This year marked an interesting turn of events for my career, beginning with a transition from working as the senior new media specialist at the American Museum of Natural History to a new role at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. Two major non-profit institutions in New York City, each with a unique cultural impact. Beyond the lasting memory of launching an online video presence for the museum, one of my final projects at AMNH ended up winning a Webby Award this year. It was the perfect way to celebrate my two-and-a-half years covering the behind-the-scenes happenings at the science institution.

Late last year, I produced, shot, and edited the video “Picturing Science” for AMNH, which explained a special exhibit on display in the museum. This exhibition, curated by Mark Siddall, curator in the Division of Invertebrate Zoology, featured more than 20 sets of large-format images that showcased the wide range of research being conducted at the museum as well as how various optical tools are used in scientific studies.

Nominated against videos from CBS Interactive, Engadget, VICE Media, and Google Creative Lab, it was an honor having my video selected by a distingushed panel of judges as the best technology video on the web last year.
